Creation The hermessence santal massoïa is an invitation to discover the delectable combination of two soft woods: sandalwood from new caledonia and massoia from new guinea. With this in mind, I chose to blend these milky woods, with their unusual, pungent hints of resin and dried fruit, and familiar notes of dulce de leche and flowers. This echo, created by perfumer Jean-claude Ellena, brings a whisper of astonishing and unexpected lightness to the skin. Olfactory notes Woody and enveloping, santal massoïa evokes a compelling encounter between two woods: milky sandalwood and smooth massoia. An hermessence suitable for both men and women.  The object The santal massoïa bottle is showcased by a vibrant etoupe-coloured lacquer on the the glass, echoed by the suede leather cap. The Hermès detail The house’s emblematic lantern bottle constitutes a unique and timeless signature. Its leather cap with saddle-stitch signature is topped with an engraved Hermès saddle nail.There are linear, vertical woods like cedar, and others that are horizontal, round, supple and velvet-smooth, such as sandalwood and massoïa. With this understanding in mind, I composed this enigmatic, inviting yet distant perfume with its unusual, pungent hints of resin and dried fruit, and familiar smells of dulce de leche and flowers.
