Afternoon Delight captures a moment of self-indulgence, transporting you to a Parisian café, where the uplifting aroma of warm madeleines fills the air. A sweet yet light, ambery gourmand fragrance whose delectable scent recalls moment of joyful escapism. At the heart of the fragrance is a Madeleine accord , that at once evokes Afternoon Delight’s sense of comfort, while conjuring a moment of me time, in which the quotidian appears to fade away. These notes all capture the memory of an enveloping moment for oneself. To compose Afternoon Delight, master perfumer Carlos Benaïm looked to evoke the transporting feeling that famed French author Marcel Proust immortalized in his 1913 novel À la recherche du temps perdu. In the novel, the narrator tastes a madeleine dipped in tea, taking him back to his childhood. The madeleine has since come to symbolize taking a moment to pause and recall the memory of a fleeting indulgence.
