Hand woven and hand dyed silk triptych (framed) Height - 110.5cms each panel Width - 32cms each panel / Hand woven and hand dyed silk triptych (framed) Height - 110.5cms each panel Width - 32cms each panelTrudie Timlin Brown's work references Robert Rauschenberg ‘s 1951 all-white painted canvases & the music  of John Cage,  4’33’’, Silence, composed in 1952. His 3 movement Silence is an invitation to hear the non-intentional sounds which occur during a performance. Absence of colour cannot be seen or silence heard whilst shadow, light, movement & earthly sounds intrude.   Weave involves crossing threads at right-angles to each other. For Trudie, it is also pulling together threads of ideas to make new connections. Trudie loom weaves silk canvases, ikat dyeing warp and weft yarns. Poetry and text may provide a starting point & she has been weaving and incorporating text into her canvases, & as lengths of narrow fabric.   Loom weaving involves a series of stages: playing with ideas, mark-making & colour studies, planning, warp-winding, dyeing, setting and threading the loom & then weaving. Process underpins loom weaving, providing a framework within which Trudie hopes to test the medium’s edges, and her own selvedge. Through the act of making & the rhythm of weaving, time slows providing a space where hand, eye, mind & creativity work together. All warps & wefts are hand dyed silk.Hand woven and hand dyed silk triptych (framed) Height - 110.5cms each panel Width - 32cms each panel / Hand woven and hand dyed silk triptych (framed) Height - 110.5cms each panel Width - 32cms each panelTrudie Timlin Brown's work references Robert Rauschenberg ‘s 1951 all-white painted canvases & the music  of John Cage,  4’33’’, Silence, composed in 1952.
