Made in the Scottish Highlands since 1824, The Glenlivet is the world’s second best selling single malt. Malt from Speyside and mineral water from Cairngorms National Park are distilled in traditional lantern shaped stills and then matured in oak casks, giving The Glenlivet its smooth, rich and fruity flavour and congeners. The Glenlivet Groundbreaker Collection is a new, limited edition collection created exclusively for Travel Retail. Each chapter celebrates original artists who, through travel, have set new standards in their artistic craft. The Glenlivet Groundbreaker Collection celebrates travel and creatives who forge their own path. In this first Chapter One: The Journey Inwards, we’ve collaborated with renowned artist Red Hong Yi to reflect upon how unique travel experiences shape who we become. Created to attract and inspire well-travelled shoppers who want to discover a new experience and appreciate the value of this special product. Hong Yi’s art takes us on a journey from the mountains of Borneo to the bustling streets of Shanghai onto the shores of Los Angeles: and finally to the Livet Valley in Scotland. After maturation in European and American Oak, a portion of the whisky is selectively finished in double-charred American Oak and European Red Wine casks a first for The Glenlivet.
