Bushmills #3 Char Bourbon Cask Reserve is the third edition in it's travel retail-exclusive Steamship Collection, launched to mark the 125th anniversary of the SS Bushmills steamship's maiden voyage. This edition is the result of our long-standing relationship with coopers from Louisville, Kentucky who reserve only the finest American white oak bourbon casks to mature this unique whiskey. The seasoned casks are emptied and custom-charred before being shipped to the Old Bushmills Distillery and filled exclusively with triple-distilled Bushmills Single Malt Irish Whiskey. Char has significant impact on the flavour as it draws out incredible spicy, honeyed vanilla flavours from deep within the cask. The result is a rare limited release, matured to perfection in first-fill #3 char bourbon casks to give a honeyed maltiness and notes of toasted oak, spices and creme brulee, with a long, rich and smooth finish.The seasoned casks are emptied and custom-charred before being shipped to the Old Bushmills Distillery. Triple Char has significant impact on the flavour as it draws out incredibly defined spicy, honeyed vanilla flavours from deep within the cask.
